Remedy Lane, the child of famous actors, was Hollywood royalty and a successful wedding planner until a scandal wrecked her career. She abandons Los Angeles for Dulcet, Tex., where being the special-events manager at luxury resort Briscoe Ranch Resort is her chance for redemption. But trouble keeps finding her, including an escaped elephant on a golf course, a runaway melon at a summer party, and a fire at the resort. Throw in sexy fire chief Micah Garrity, who makes it clear he has no use for a California princess, and sparks are inevitable. The attraction between the two is sizzling, but Remedy's willingness to look past Micah's chip on his shoulder about rich people is baffling. Micah can't get over her outsider status, even as his friends and town eccentrics warmly embrace Remedy and she grows into a strong woman. Micah's hero complex is tedious, and the eventual kick in the pants he receives for being a condescending jerk is extremely satisfying. Once he recognizes his imperfections, it gets easier to root for him and Remedy to get their happy ending.

Summer hot summer
Absolutely sizzling! The author develops each character vividly in our minds and endears them in our hearts. Melissa has a real knack of developing these characters and using them in the next book. I can't wait for the next one!
Hot Texas summer, Hot Texas firefighter
Was it love at first fight? In the end, it was love. I loved this author's Bomb Squad series (and I'm not a hockey fan) & love a good cowboy book. This book was fun.
**just one complaint, the story line lost a few days at the end. In editing someone should have caught that!**
Great book!
I loved everything about this book. I laughed from start to finish and I also cried. Remedy Lane is hilarious and witty and a menus in a golf cart. Micah Garrity "Alpha Bubba" is the town hero and the Fire Cheif/Fire Marshal. He takes his job to heart and will protect the folks of Ravel County Texas until his last breath. Remedy and Micah's chemistry is off the charts and they but heads every time they are in the same room. They just can't seem to stay away from each other. I loved the first book and I can't wait for the next one.
