The Hoop Kid from Elmdale Park

The story centers around the small yet courageous Bernard Jones, an eighth grade basketball fanatic, who goes to stay with his grandparents in Elmdale for the summer. While he is there, he forms a basketball team with his new friends, to take on the local bullies in the annual Elmdale Park basketball tournament, which Elmdale hasn't won in 20 years. The stakes are high because this year the future of the historic Park depends on Bernard and his team winning the whole thing. The ruthless millionaire, Victor Franco, wants the Park shut down and turned into a city dump for his own personal gain. There are some zany twists and turns along the way, including a talking basketball!
