Boundless Book Reviews ,

100% charming

I was provided a copy of Fooling Around with Cinderella in exchange for an honest review. I am so glad I was given the opportunity to read this; normally I wouldn’t have chosen this for myself, and I would have missed out on a 100% charming and heartfelt story.

Jaine gets charmed into playing Storybook Valley’s full time Cinderella, and part time Marketing coordinator, by her very handsome and lady killer boss, Dylan. She isn’t too thrilled by the prospect of playing Cinderella, but wants to be a team player in order to get the full time Marketing position. The funny thing is Jaine wears so many hats; she kinda resembles Cinderella in her real life. She has two sisters that don’t appreciate her, and are constantly dumping things on her that they should do themselves, including watching a child!

“I’m Cinderella the scullery maid, who no one appreciates.”

Life at the Storybook Valley brings many things to Jaine; friendships, betrayals, romance, love, heartache, and great joy.

Fooling Around With Cinderella was a great story about a woman learning to stand up for herself, find out who she is, and maybe find her prince charming on the way. I very much enjoyed this very sweet and charming story. I’m giving it 4 boundless stars....Sara

Valley of the lovesick

Jaine meets Dylan when she applies to work for his company, Storybook Valley. She explains to him why he needs a head of marketing. He says he needs a Cinderella. So they compromise.

Jaine is already feeling like she is underwater with her twin sisters making her feel like the drab and forgotten little sister. One is getting married and using her to plan it, and one is using her as a babysitter.

Dylan has something to prove his family as well. He is always being sold short. They never give him credit for how hard and how often he is working to keep the family company afloat. That is where Jaine comes in. It does not hurt that he is incredibly attracted to her, or does it?

This is such a sweet and terrific version of a popular fairy tale. What a great start to the Storybook Valley series. I personally loved that the characters had so much to offer one another. This book gives you the "feels" and tells an incredibly warm story too.

What a cute story, light, quick reading and hard to put down!

What a cute story, light, quick reading and hard to put down! Fooling Around with Cinderella by Stacy Juba is a great escape story, with just enough angst and plenty of moments to bring smiles.

Jaine is running out of her employment benefits and patience with her sisters. Babysitter, wedding planner, talk her off the cliff therapist and all around doormat to her twins, she’s decided she needs a change. So on a whim, she sends a resume to her favorite childhood theme park, offering her services as a marketing manager.

Dylan has just taken over the general manager position at his family’s theme park, Storybook Valley, in the Catskills. Catering to all things family fun but really geared to the under 7’s, his family ‘doesn’t like change’ and his mother’s relationship with Gabrielle (Jaine’s high school nemesis) who has eyes on the GM job doesn’t help. When you add in Dylan’s grandmother Lois (the original Cinderella with a very specific set of rules) and the reputation that Dylan coveted as a young child eager to leave, his family is thinking she’s another conquest and unworthy of a chance.

From sisters who rival the evil steps to adoration (and uncomfortable moments) with four year olds, re-housing gnomes and a sabotage, the story moves swiftly to conclusion with a lovely glass-slipper moment to bring it all together. Fun, light and just the ticket for those cold and rainy days when some laughter and love is what you need.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the tour company for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
