Publisher Description
Phoebe West has been head-over-heels in love with her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember.
Not that he’s bothered to notice.
Despite several mortifying attempts at seduction and a decade’s worth of unrequited pining, nothing Phoebe does seems to make any impact on the man she’s obsessed over since her bra-stuffing days.
Until she lands herself in life-threatening danger.
After years working in special forces and private security, Nathaniel “Nate” Knox may be the only man on the planet who can save Phoebe from the enemies closing in. But the deeper he pulls her into his circle of protection, the harder it is to deny the unexplored attraction between them. And if they cross that line dividing platonic friendship from passionate romance…
Phoebe’s heart will be in as much jeopardy as her life.
CROSS THE LINE is a comedic contemporary romance about a woman who can’t seem to walk away… and the man who’ll go to any length to keep her safe. It is the second installment of the internationally bestselling BOSTON LOVE STORY series and can be read as a complete standalone. Due to sparks flying, suspenseful moments, steamy scenes, and one sassy heroine, it is recommended to readers ages 17 and up.

Get ready to laugh and swoon
Julie Johnson could write the phone book and I would be laughing before I even got to the B section! If you have previously read Not You It's Me (if not-one click it now!) then you already fell in love with Phoebe and were curious and attracted to Knox. Getting to know them better and seeing their love blossom was both touching and freaking hilarious. Throw in a demonic Pomeranian, the wonderful kooky cast of Not You It's Me, a vast designer stiletto collection and you have a book that will have you laughing out loud.
Julie Johnson has the ability to create characters that you want to be friends with; they aren't perfect but they all accept each other's foibles and imperfections while being loyal and true to each other. I mean how do you not fall in love with someone who says "I only cut carbs when I'm using a pizza cutter" or "I did it, once. Woke up five hours later covered in glitter and full of regret (describing her one and only experience using Pinterest)" You can't not love her. She is not just a one dimensional funny character but is a woman who loves deeply and is warm and generous. When she says "maybe I'd rather live in the wreckage with you for a while than fake a fairly tale with someone else forever" you get a sense of her depth and loyalty which is so rare in today's society. Then there is Knox (Nate) who is total Alpha badass but surprising sweet and is a man who actually pays attention to all aspects of Phoebe's life and is super hot!
I always hate giving away the plot in reviews so I will say that there is humour (duh, it's a Julie Johnson book), unrequited (or maybe not) love, action, family drama, and did I mention the scene stealing Pomeranian? Cross the Line is one of those books that you want to devour in one sitting yet you want to prolong it to keep you in the good mood it always bestows.
