About Adam K

A Canadian electronic producer and DJ from Toronto, Adam Kershen -- known professionally as Adam K. -- established himself within the global dance music community in the late 2000s with progressive house singles like "Twilight" and "I Can Feel," which he made with creative partner Soha. Over the next decade, he remained highly visible with a variety of collaborations, solo tracks, live DJ sets, and remixes for artists like Deadmau5, Shiny Toy Guns, and even U2. In 2018, K. notched another career highlight with "Pour Me," his hit single collaboration with Vintage Culture. Kershen initially started out as a drummer in various high school bands, though over time he became more enamored with electronic music as his studio knowledge and experience grew. Along with his longtime friend and collaborator Soha, he began recording original progressive house tracks inspired by acts like Daft Punk and Tiësto. Billing himself simply as Adam K., he and Soha scored a hit with their 2007 track, "Twilight," which ran up to number two on Beatport's chart and earned accolades from BBC Radio 1 in England. Over the next few years, the duo produced a pair of EPs and began remixing tracks for Kaskade ("4AM"), Reflekt ("Need to Feel Loved"), and many others. Another collaboration between K. and Kaskade, 2010's "Raining," made it to the top of that chart and increased his visibility significantly. Further solo releases, like the 2014 EP This Is Our Future and the 2015 single "Come Alive," featuring Canadian singer Matthew Steeper, brought continued success, as did another Steeper collaboration, "Breathe," which also featured American singer Haliene. 2016 saw a reunion with Soha in "Twilight (Ten Years Of)," a new mix celebrating their 2006 hit. Two years later, K. scored big with "Pour Over," a collaboration with Brazilian producer Vintage Culture for Spinnin' Records. The single's success spawned an EP of remixes by other artists, and a follow-up single later that year, "Save Me," featured MKLA. ~ Timothy Monger
