awog ,

Wow fast and hot read!

This is a story about Senator Beau Beckett and his Federal Protection Security Agent, Judd Wolfe. They had met before and the sparks flew - so meeting again lets them catch fire!

Beau had wanted to act on his feelings for Judd the last time he saw him, but the timing wasn't right. Judd had considered telling Beau how he felt the last time they had seen one another but he just couldn't bring himself to do it.

This time - Judd is keeping a closer watch on Beau and his daughter - since it is his job to do so. The circumstances have changed and in closer quarters can he keep his hands to himself? The sizzle between them is hotter than ever and neither one will be denied.

This is a very short read but worthwhile in the way that even though it is quick - the couple does know one another from before and feels justified in finally making their move. Judd and Beau both know what is at stake and a showdown with a criminal is the only way to speed this along and keep everyone safe. Including the Senators daughter.

Quick read and just a fun and sexy jaunt.

Unbound Passion ,

A bit too quick and shallow, esp. with a child at stake.

-- MY THOUGHTS >
Judging a Book by it's Cover:
Very appealing to the eye. Hot M/M embrace.
Looking Deeper:
I'd like to start by stating that this book has been in my wish list since shortly after it's release. I met Ms. Davis at an event and did not put two and two together, much to my embarrassment once I got home. I am so excited that it is her book, and this one in particular, that will be my first audiobook. And regardless how it goes, I thank Ms. Davis and Barclay Publicity for this opportunity.
Senator Beau Beckett used to be a JAG lawyer. FSP agent Judd Wolfe used to be SpecOps. They've met a time or two in the past under their old positions, but now they are thrust together once again as Beckett's life - and that of his four-year old daughter - are in danger from a psychopathic stalker with a vendetta. It's Judd's job to keep them safe at all costs while finding and capturing the madman.
This book is going to be SO hard to score and rate. Not only is it my first audio book, but there were so many different ways to approach it. The narrator has a pleasant speaking voice, but I would suffer fits of giggles when he'd create different voices for the different characters - not unlike a kindergarten teacher with her students at Story Time. The tonal inflections during some parts were not as strong as I'd imagine them in my head.
Beau and Judd are good, strong characters by themselves. There's just enough background on both to get a feel for who they are. The only way I can describe their chemistry is Spontaneous Combustion. It really comes out of nowhere and blazes to inferno proportions in under a minute! Despite having met in an official capacity in the past, they really did not have a personal or intimate history, so the suddenness is a bit surprising; although, given the length of the novella, I can understand why things are rushed along as they are. There is a small handful of secondary characters that support the plot, Angel and the female bomb specialist being the best. Dialogue was good - mostly believable. The plot was swift and sure but lacked a real depth of development in emotions. It focused on moving forward, progressing at a fevered pace. Conflicts are resolved in an expedient and efficient manner. There was little to no predictability and the novella concluded quickly, although I'm a little skeptical of the ending.
** I'd like to still read and review the eBook format to compare how the story can vary in interpretation based on format.
