Publisher Description

Saying yes has always come easy for Fallon. Now, as Renita Pizzitola’s steamy, poignant Crush series continues, winning her dream job means saying no to the guy she wants the most.

Between all the parties and random hook-ups, Fallon Carr is this close to flunking out of college. But her internship working with pediatric patients means the world to her—especially since, at the end of the summer, one lucky intern will be offered a paid position. Determined to leave her bad reputation behind, Fallon even takes a bet that she won’t sleep with anyone from work. But there’s one little catch. . . .

Not only is Cade Ryan the hottest guy Fallon has ever laid eyes on, he’s a therapy dog handler who volunteers his time to visit kids at the hospital. So when he starts pursuing her, Fallon can’t believe her bad timing. The thing is, Cade is different. He’s not like the college guys who see her as a one-night stand, or the high-school boyfriend who took a part of her she can never get back. Cade genuinely wants to spend time with her—and not just between the sheets.

Fallon won’t let her growing feelings for Cade get in the way of her dreams. Besides, no guy can break down the walls she put up long ago. So what’s the harm in a little flirting? It’s not like she’s falling in love. But she may have seriously underestimated how complicated things can get when the perfect guy falls for her first.

Fallon and Cade

Cade and Fallon’s story. Fallon’s life changes course on a hospital stairwell when she stumbles into a dark blue eyed, with honey-blond hair guy. Her life will never be the same again. Cade is handsome, patient and everything in between. I fell in love with all the characters once again. Fallon struggles to come to terms with her past. When their relationship began, it just happened. It was destiny. Together they became one, mind, body and soul. Fallon bares her soul; fully exposes herself and shares the most darkest intimate secret with Cade. We cannot become who we need to be if we allow our past to determine or influence our present and future. Will Fallon allow her past to control her or will she find peace and acceptance?
There is one song that really described Fallon to me; Clean performed by Ingrid Michaelson (Taylor Swift).
Pizzitola writing is perfection. A marvelous passion filled, breath-taking story. Author definitely knows how to write a happy, beautiful, captivating and tear streaking story. The author shows personal growth and maturity on different levels with each of the characters. She has a unique gift for writing wonderful characters into a storyline.Brilliantly written. Outstanding-character development. Without reservation, I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

Certainly lives up to the first book in the series

Fallon's more interested in temporary fun than a relationship, and her partying ways have earned her both a reputation and nearly failing grades. But while she may not have the heart or the confidence to fix the relationship problem, she's determined to pick up her grades, succeed at her internship, and achieve the career she's always wanted for herself. However, the internship will become a paid position for one lucky participant, and she'll work her butt off to be the one selected — but she has to keep her focus.

Cade works with therapy dogs, bringing canine comfort to ailing patients, and it doesn't hurt that he's drop-dead gorgeous and genuinely nice. But Fallon accepted a bet that she wouldn't mix business with pleasure, and staying away from the one guy who might just get past her walls is proving to be a lot harder than she expected.

The Verdict: I'm not usually a fan of characters who sleep around due to some issue in their past, but Fallon was different than most. While she certainly had some problems when it came to commitment, she never really played the woe-is-me card, and her refusal to be ashamed of her promiscuity had me respecting her before I had a chance to judge her. Sure, a bad experience had turned her off to relationships, and she didn't deal with it in the best way, but she never really went into full-on self-destruct mode, and even though she was missing out on the fairy tale, she was enjoying her life as it was. It felt like more of a change in ways than a coping mechanism.

Like Fallon, Cade wasn't your typical romance novel alpha male, and while he was definitely hot enough and confident enough to go toe-to-toe with Fallon, he avoided the cliches I expected to find in him. He seemed as much into Fallon after her reputation was laid out for him as he was before, and since he didn't play into things like her typical lusty frat boy, he stood out from all the rest of the potential one-night stands. He didn't overdo it, but he did manage to forge a decent friendship with her, something that made her see him in a different light and begin wanting the same kind of happily ever after her friends had.

As could only be expected, Fallon began to compare herself to Cade and felt like she came up short, like he deserved better than a girl who had a long string of guys in her past. That change from her usual brazen pride in who she was got a bit frustrating, but at the same time, it seemed pretty realistic. Everyone has doubts as relationships begin, especially when the object of their attraction and affection seems damned near perfect, and it only makes sense that she'd wonder if her past behavior would become an obstacle. Fortunately, Cade was a much better guy than that, and even as Fallon was busy judging herself, he accepted her for who she was.

Just a Little Flirt certainly lives up to the first book in the series, and I love that we even got to visit with Brinley and Mason. Given how different Fallon was from the other characters, this book easily works as a standalone, but I certainly wouldn't suggest passing up the fun that is Just a Little Crush. So far, this series has everything I love about the New Adult Romance genre, but Renita Pizzitola adds a bit more depth and uniqueness to her characters than you'd usually find in this category, and it's that difference that really makes the stories stand out.
