About Cam

Blending 21st-century pop sensibilities with storytelling-forward songwriting, Cam has been one of modern country’s most exciting artists since her breakthrough in the early 2010s. Born in 1984 in Huntington Beach, CA, Camaron Marvel Ochs was a fan of country music growing up, and she released her first full-length album, the independent Heartforward, in 2010. She relocated to Los Angeles and began writing songs for other artists, including Maggie Rose and Miley Cyrus, and later headed to Nashville to pursue country music. Her first single after the move, “Down This Road,” came out in 2013, and the following year she signed her first major-label record deal. “My Mistake,” released in 2015, established her as an up-and-comer, and her follow-up single, the smoldering “Burning House,” was a country-radio smash, bolstered by a spare arrangement and remarkably confessional lyrics. Cam’s first major-label album, Untamed, came out later that year, and its mix of modern production and razor-sharp lyrics made it a critical and commercial success. In 2017 Cam released “Diane,” which cemented her as a songwriting force, and in 2020, her third full-length, The Otherside, showcased her constantly evolving and expanding definition of country music.
